What Is A Showcase?
Networking In Person • 3m 52s
Showcases are an incredible way to proactively get your work seen by industry members.
While being 'discovered' is a bit of a rare and unlikely event (as few industry members have the power to hand someone a career), a showcase is one of the few places where a casting director, agent, manager, or filmmaker may actually find (or 'discover') new talent.
The types of showcases highlighted in this video include:
- Pay to perform showcases
- Donation based showcases
- Showcases for acting schools
- Graduate showcases at the end of a years long diploma or degree style acting program
Please always look at the resume of any showcase 'industry members' before paying to perform. Some showcases outside of LA can be put on by scammers who make false promises.
